Explore BC's Fishing Highway 24
BC’s famed “Fishing Highway” (Highway 24), also known as the Land of Hidden Waters, heads east from Highway 97 north of 70 Mil House over to Little Fort. At only 97 km long, this short yet scenic route provides access to 100+ crystal clear lakes for fishing and water sports, as well as a plenty of places to set up camp and keep an eye out for abundant wildlife, sublime scenery, and laid-back locals. Avid fishermen flock to this area to cast a line for trout and other popular species. However, Highway 24 also offers ample opportunity to relax lakeside, explore the water at your leisure, or head out onto local hiking trails.
Visit Historic Barkerville
Situated just over an hour east of Quesnel, Barkerville is a marquee attraction along the Gold Rush Trail and a must-stop for travellers interested in history and heritage. Impressively, Barkerville’s collection of multi-purpose buildings remains to this day, and the town is now the largest historic site in western North America.
