Framing the Future: How Storytelling Drives Environmental Action
How do you inspire people to protect the environment? For renowned photographer and adventure guide Chris Harris, the answer lies in letting people witness nature’s beauty firsthand. Chris believes that seeing pristine, untouched landscapes in person is essential to understanding their value—and why they deserve protection.
In today’s Travel Beyond episode, we’re featuring Chris and also premiering a short film about the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast, Connection. Created with the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association and Arcade Motion, the film celebrates the region’s landscapes, lifestyle, and unique sense of place.
In our interview, Chris shares his deep love for British Columbia’s Chilcotin region, particularly the Chilcotin Ark. One of the largest and most biodiverse wilderness areas in the temperate world, the Ark is home to rare grasslands and ecosystems found nowhere else. Its unique geography may even offer a refuge for species as the climate changes.
“How do you bring people in touch with the natural world? Well, I think tourism actually has a very big role to play to bring them out.” — Chris Harris
