Getting to 70 Mile House
From Vancouver: Travel east on Highway 1 (Trans-Canada Highway) to Cache Creek, then head north on Highway 97. 70 Mile House is approximately 73 km (45 miles) north of Cache Creek. The total journey from Vancouver is about 420 km (260 miles) and typically takes approximately 5 hours by car.
From Williams Lake: Head south on Highway 97 for about 105 km (65 miles), a journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
By Air: The nearest airports with scheduled commercial service are in Kamloops (YKA) and Williams Lake (YWL), both offering regular connections to Vancouver. From either airport, rental cars are available for the drive to 70 Mile House. Private aircraft can utilize the South Cariboo Regional Airport at 108 Mile Ranch, located about 38 km (24 miles) north of 70 Mile House.
70 Mile House is situated directly on Highway 97, making it easily accessible year-round. During winter months (October to April), BC regulations require all vehicles to be equipped with winter tires when travelling on provincial highways in this region.
