Cottonwood

Cottonwood House - Cottonwood, BC | Tyler Cave

Cottonwood is located in the northern Cariboo Plateau, 8 km northwest of Coldspring House, which is at the beginning of the Cottonwood River (at the confluence of the Swift River and Lightning Creek – one of the more renowned creeks during the Cariboo Gold Rush).

At Cottonwood House Historic Site find a store, museum and heritage property located on the way to other popular Gold Rush Trail sites, as part of the trail of the Cariboo Waggon Road – with Cottonwood House as the last major roadhouse before Barkerville. Here you can catch a glimpse of what life was like in the 19th century as the area became a literal “gold mine” for explorers looking to find their fortune.
